Main research activities of the research group

  • Data science: statistical analysis of biomedical data, in silico models, experimental design for collecting behavioral data, simulation of the electromagnetic field near the cerebral cortex during different activities;
  • Imaging: ultrasound, Doppler, MRI and PET, to describe the morphofunctional characteristics of healthy and sick subjects;
  • Nanotech: characterization and functionalization of nanobubbles and nanodroplets for CNS applications. Nanobubbles can be visualized with US (or MRI if decorated with superparamagnetic nano-sized particles) and be guided to a target through biochemical or magnetic mechanisms, intelligently releasing active compounds for therapy through interaction with US or EM fields.
