Main research activities of the research group

The laboratory of electron microscopy has been doing research on the ultrastructure of the nervous system for several decades, combining conventional EM analyses with high-resolution immunocytochemical investigations at the light and electron microscopic levels. The laboratory has also served as the core facility for collaborative research projects on topics ranging from cancer research to diagnostic analyses in human samples. The laboratory is equipped with a high-resolution Jeol JEM-1400Flash transmission electron microscope and sample preparation equipment, including cryofixation and freeze-substitution devices.
