Main research activities of the research group
The research activity focuses on the study of psychopathology, neurocognition, social cognition, and social functioning in schizophrenia spectrum disorders, the evaluation of their possible relationships, their course during the course of the illness and their response to pharmacological (traditional and new antipsychotics) and rehabilitative treatments. The group participates and is part of the Steering Committe of the Italian Network for Psychosis Research: a multicenter study on factors affecting social functioning in real-life of people diagnosed with schizophrenia, of which it is a member of the Steering committee, and in the Integrated Structural-Functional Brain Imaging Protocol. In the field of clinical psychopharmacology he conducts studies on the efficacy and safety of new psychopharmacological therapies in schizophrenia, and acute psychosis, and participates in numerous multicenter controlled trials (national and international).
