Research topics
During the PhD, my research activity was focused on the integrated analysis of molecular and cellular processes responsible for sensory signals elaborations in normal and pathological conditions.
In my post-doc fellowship, I am now focused on neurodegenerative diseases: in particular, i) the study of integration and differentiation of human telencephalic progenitor cells into striatal neurons in a model of Huntington's disease, and ii) in neuromuscular diseases, focusing the attention on the pathogenesis of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and on possible novel therapies for counteract sarcopenia (in elderly) and muscular disorders.
Moreover, I am also studying the biological effects of green/blue nature exposure in mental health.
